Courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.

life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage

Born in the sun-kissed land of Kuwait in 1977, my life has been a voyage across borders and cultures, a tale of resilience and adaptation. My formative years were spent in a sandy neighborhood, surrounded by the comforting embrace of family and the warmth of shared experiences. However, in 1990, when I was thirteen, the invasion of Kuwait changed my life forever.
The echoes of war and its impact on the lives of countless innocent souls left an indelible mark on my psyche. With chaos swirling around us, my family and I sought refuge in the welcoming arms of Amman, Jordan. There, I spent six formative years forging friendships that have withstood the test of time and distance.

As my wings began to spread, I was drawn to the vibrant city of Istanbul, Turkey, hoping to pursue a career in medicine. But, little did I know the city had more in store for me than just an education; it was there that I met my soulmate, my loving wife. Together, we embarked on the adventure of parenthood, welcoming two wonderful children into our lives.
At the age of 45, I got a ticket to a new world, and I got a green card. My wife and I knew this was an opportunity to leave our comfort zones and embrace the unknown. So, with courage and determination, we packed our bags. We set sail for the land of opportunity – the United States of America.

Today, as I reflect on my journey, I am reminded of the wisdom and insight gained along the way. Life is a kaleidoscope of experiences, a mosaic of the people and places that have shaped us. In the face of adversity, we discover our strength and resilience. When we open ourselves up to new horizons, we unlock the potential for growth and transformation.
As I navigate this ever-evolving adventure, I am grateful for the lessons learned and the relationships formed. Through these experiences, I have come to understand who I am and the potential within us to overcome obstacles and embrace change. With every challenge and triumph, I am reminded that life is a journey worth embarking upon, and every step along the way adds color and depth to the tapestry of our existence.

As we write new episodes of our lives, I will share insights gleaned, and stories birthed from our unfolding journey on this site. These narratives will weave through the joys and challenges of adapting to a new culture, raising a family in a land so far from our own, and continually striving to grow.
